Lagos Head of Service calls for Efficiency
The Lagos State Head of Service, HOS, Mr. Adesegun Ogunlewe, has charged public servants in the state to be more committed, determined and efficient in the discharge of their duties in the new year.
He urged public servants to imbibe the virtue of timeliness in the discharge of their duties, adding that work should be done and files treated promptly, saying: “Work must be done sharp, sharp and no delay of files or assignments.”
While expressing appreciation to workers for their contributions to the actualisation of government objectives in the old year, Ogunlewe urged them to reflect and reappraise their activities and responsibilities with a view to showing more commitment in the new year.
He urged them to join hands with the government to improve the quality of life of the citizens.
According to the HOS, “As I profoundly express the state government’s appreciation to all public servants in the state for your wonderful contributions in terms of your, commitment, diligence and selfless service in the past one year, I wish to enjoin you to buckle up for the challenges in the new year.
“Whereas the state government is determined to fulfill its promises to the electorate, this has become more imperative, especially with the economic realities occasioned by the recent removal of subsidy on petroleum products.
“Therefore, there is need to rise to the imperatives of the moment as the responsibility of achieving the promises rests squarely on us.”
Ogunlewe stressed the need for more commitment and determination for the success of the administration, noting that aside from individual success, there was the need for collective success which would give everyone a sense of accomplishment.
