Boko Haram Attacks Army Outpost, kills Soldier
Daring militants of the Islamic Sect waging a war against Nigeria and the Christians, have attacked an army outpost in Maiduguri, killing two persons.
According to AP, the attack Wednesday morning occurred near Nigeria’s north eastern city of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital and the spiritual home for the sect known as Boko Haram. A witness said a soldier and a hospital worker died in the attack.
Col. Victor Ebhaleme confirmed the attack, but declined to give further details.
These are just the latest killings blamed on the sect, which this year alone have been blamed for at least 76 deaths, according to an Associated Press count.
The sect has been waging an increasingly bloody sectarian battle against Nigeria’s weak central government.
