Man Stabs Girlfriend To Death
The Lagos State police command on Wednesday announced the arrest of a resident, Kabiru Ogunlana, who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death.
Mr. Samuel Jinadu, the spokesman of the command, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the suspect also attempted to commit suicide immediately after the death of the lady.
Jinadu said that the “lover boy suspect” who also stabbed himself in the stomach was now on admission at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja after the arrest.
According to him, the suspect allegedly stabbed to death his girlfriend, Isima Ajayi, on January 16, at about 5.20 a.m. at 13, Popoola St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, over undisclosed issues.
Jinadu explained that following the death of the lady, the suspect attempted to commit suicide by stabbing himself in stomach but was rescued by neighbours.
He said that the remains of the lady, who resided at 12, Olalubi St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, had been deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The spokesman said that the case has been transferred to the homicide section, state criminal investigations department (CID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the homicide section of the state CID, Panti, has begun investigations into the alleged murder of another resident, Baba Abba of 18, Osho St., Opebi, Ikeja.
Jinadu told NAN that Abba was allegedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen on January 16, at about 1.40 a.m., along Lateef Jakande Rd., Agidigbi, Ikeja.
“The victim was certified dead at the Lagoon Hospital, Ikeja, and his remains have been deposited at the public mortuary,” Jinadu added.
