Lagos Rugby League Kicks Off In April

Friends of Rugby has concluded plans to organise Lagos Rugby Union League.

The league is expected to kick off in April at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Spokesman of the Friends of Rugby, Ntiense Williams, told P.M.Sports that the group is ready to organise a well-coordinated league, saying that all the participating teams have started their preparation.

“Most of the teams are preparing for the league and I am pleased with the structure put in place by the Friends of Rugby. We are looking forward to the opening ceremony,” he said.

Williams disclosed that this year’s league will also host some technocrats from the Rugby Football Union, RFU, who will be visiting the country to lend their technical support to help Nigerian league.

According to Williams, other programmes pencilled down for the year include the traditional Rakia 10’s rugby tournament which will kick off in March.

He stated that plans are in top gear to organise women rugby game before the year runs out.
