Wrestlemania: 6 Centres To Host Oshiomhole Tourney

P.M.Sports can report that six centres spread across Edo State, Nigeria will play host to the maiden Comrade Adams Oshiomohle International Wrestling Championship, which will be staged next month.

Coordinator of the championship, Prince Olanrewaju Mohammed, told P.M.Sports in Lagos that the tourney, which is being staged to honour Governor Oshiomhole, will run for six days with Day One taking place at Igueben Grammar School, Igueben. Day Two will be staged inside the auditorium of Ambrose Ali University, AAU, Ekpoma. It will be the turn of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in the third day.

Pa Imodu College of Physical Education, Afuze will host Day Four of the championship. Day Five of the competition will be the turn of Igbinedion University, Okada, while the tourney will be round off at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. Benin City with celebration in the final day .

“The Local Organising Committee, LOC, headed by Primate Charles Odugbesi, the Secretary of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Lagos, has been working round the clock to ensure that the championship live up to its billings,” said Prince Mohammed, former Nigerian wrestling champion.

He said that mobilisation has been going in Edo State to sensitise the people on the need to support the LOC for a successful tournament.

“All the 18 local government chairmen in Edo State have been contacted and I’m happy to say that they are looking forward to the competition,” he said.
