71 Bomb Blast Victims Still In Hospital

The Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran,has said that 71 victims of the multiple bomb blasts on January 20 in Kano are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals in the city.

The commissioner made the disclosure while speaking with reporters in Kano after the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, visited some of the victims at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital.

“We have received 75 injured persons out of whom four of them died in our hand while the remaining 71 are currently receiving treatment in our hospitals.”

He said the state government had been able to treat the victims free with some assistance from First Aid and the medical charity group, Medicine Sans Frontiers.

NAN reports that Bayero, accompanied by the Emirs of Kazaure and Dutse, Alhaji Najib Adamu and Alhaji Nuhu Sunusi, respectively visited the victims.

The emirs who were accompanied to the hospital by the Commissioner for Health and other top officials of the ministry, prayed for the quick recovery of the victims.
