Glory Coach Sad Over Losing Adebutu Cup

Chief Coach of Glory FC, Idowu Omotosho, has expressed disappointment over his team’s defeat at the U-20 Kessignton Adebutu Cup final held on Sunday at the Campos Sports Centre, Lagos Island.

Glory FC lost 0-3 to Damilola Taylor Football Club of Ebute Metta in the final watched by hundreds of spectators.

Omotosho said he was shocked with the outcome of the match, attributing their defeat to absence of key players in the team.

“We suffered this humilation because some of our key players missed the match due to injury. Despite this fact, I expected my players to put up a good fight but unfortunately they were humilated ,”he regretted.

Omotosho also blamed their defeat on poor officiating, advising the organisers to work on the area in the next edition of the tournament.

In his remark, Coach of the winners,Sulaiman Ahmed boasted that the victory was well deserved.

He said the peformance of his players showed that they were hungry for success.

“I like how my players responded to the match. All what I told them was carried out which earned us victory. It was a match that showed that Damilola Taylor have a winning mentality and the ability to force their opponents to be out-played ,”said Ahmed vowing to defend the title in the next edition.

Cup donor, Chief Kessington Adebutu, who was impressed with the standard of the game, congratulated the finalists, noting that the better side won the game.

Chairman Organisng Committee, Aliu Ganiu gave thanks to God for the success of the tournament.

He also expressed gratitude to the cup donor for his contribution to football development in Lagos State.

Fatai Ibrahim scored hat-trick in the encounter that earned Damilola Taylor FC the title of the tournament.
