Boxers Ready To Shed Blood At Rowe Park

The 18 amateur boxers billed to exchange punches tomorrow at the 27th Monthly Saturday Boxing Show have all vowed to spew blood when they step into the ring at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, Lagos.

In the 69kg category, Oyewole Tosin of Mainland Boxing Club will be up against Olusegun Mustapha of Young Star Boxing Club, while Lukmon Ramoni of Ashimota Boxing Club will try is strength against Suleiman Adeyeri of Tunmise Boxing Club in the 60kg category.

The duo of Kehinde Ajibola of Ajetunmobi Boxing Club and Rasaq Ogunyemi of Paramount Boxing Club will trade punches in the 52kg category while Mukaila Rafiu of the Nigeria Police will stand toe to toe with Rasheed Aremu of Ajetunmobi Boxing Club in the 56kg category.

In the 64kg category, Olaide Bashiru of Star Boxing Club will fend off a strong challenge from Taofeek Layiwola of Ashimota Boxing Club while Ajani Afees of Golden Star Boxing Club will try to outpunch Thompson Bamidele of Young Star Boxing Club in the 56kg category.

The duo of Gbenga Bada of the Nigeria Police and Chinoso Kamba of Paramount Boxing Club will put their strength to the test in the 75kg category while Ibraheem Oba of Ajasa Boxing Club will trade punches with Sodiq Akano of Star Boxing Club in the 75kg category.

The only female bout of the day will involve Ruth Okenye of Oluomo Boxing Club and Vivian Vincent of Smart Boxing Club who will have a showdown in the 56kg category.

The monthly event is packaged by the Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame, LBHF, in conjuction with the Lagos Amateur Boxing Association, LABA.
