Ayeni Laments State Of Amateur Boxing In Nigeria

Former President of Nigeria Boxing Federation, NBF, Brigadier General Ola Ayeni (retd.), has decried the state of amateur boxing in the country.

Ayeni said that Nigeria does not have competent coaches whose service and expertise could have added value to the develop of the game in the country.

“One of the problems boxing in the country is that we don’t have good coaches and trainers. The coaches we have now don’t have enough experience to handle our boxers. Though our pugilists may have the potentials to go places in the game, the technical capabilities of their coaches could not bring the best out of them,” Ayeni said.
