Taekwondo Seminar Holds In Abuja
World Taekwondo Federation International Referee & Refresher course will hold from 17 to 20 April in Abuja, Nigeria.
One hundred participants across the world are expected to take part in the three- day event.
Chairman Organising Committee, Ferguson Oluigbo, told P.M.Sports that the seminar will give the referees the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge of the game.
He said during the seminar, the participants are expected to write an examination and that whoever pass the test is eligible to officiate any international taekwondo events all over the world.
“This is an opportunity for Nigerian taekwondo referees to write and pass an examination to test their knowledge about the game so that they can have the chance to officiate during international championships. After this, I expect more Nigerian referees to officiate at the world stage instead of being relegated to the background,” he said.
Oluigbo, who is a member of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation said at least 15 Nigerian referees are expected to attend the seminar while the remaining participants will come from different parts of the world.
One of the Nigerian participants, Thursdaline Peter said she is looking forward to the programme. She said the seminar course will help her to know the latest techniques of the game.
