5 Suspected Vandals In Police Net
The Plateau Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested five persons for allegedly vandalising NNPC pipeline supplying fuel from Kaduna refinery to NNPC Depot in Jos.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr. Desmond Agu, told newsmen in Jos on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested in Bassa Local Government Area of the state while scooping petrol from the vandalised pipeline.
He explained that the five suspects were arrested with eight drums of petrol, seven empty drums and other items used for vandalising pipelines.
Agu said the items were conveyed in a Mazda truck.
He said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were completed by the relevant agencies.
Agu warned those selling petrol in jerry cans to desist from the practice, threatening that offenders would be arrested and prosecuted.
He commended men of the military Special Task Force (STF), the police and other security agencies in the state for their collaboration in the efforts to rid the state of vandals.
