Police Arrest Students For Cultism
The Police in Lagos have arrested two students of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, over alleged cultism and attempted murder.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos.
Jaiyeoba, who did not give the educational details of the suspects, said they were arrested on January 28, “after attempting to murder one Rotimi of No. 12, Idumosi St., Oto-Awori, in Ijanikin, a Lagos suburb.”
According to him, the suspected cultists, conspired with others and allegedly shot the victim.
He said that the timely intervention of policemen from Ijanikin Police Station saved the victim from bleeding to death.
“Two members of the cult group were arrested, while the others escaped,” Jaiyeoba added.
He said that the Police were on the trail of the alleged runaway cultists.
The PPRO added that the case had been transferred to the State CID, Panti, Yaba for discreet investigation.
