Idumota Marketers Cut Down On Film Production
As film pirates continue to feast on the Idumota-based film marketers’ products, the association under the Yoruba Video Film Producers and Marketers Association (YOVFPAM) has decided to reduce the number of Yoruba video films released.
The decision to cut down on the number of films released fortnightly was arrived at during the executive meeting of the association.
To this end, the Femi Odunuga-led outgoing executive and his in-coming chairman, Ahaji Toyin Uthman aka Toymax, recently met Lagos-based film distributors to deliberate on the way forward.
At the meeting held in the premises of Lagos State Centre for Arts and Culture, Ikeja, the marketers solicited the co-operation of the distributors in combating video pirates and in the prompt payment of outstanding debt, among other things.
Promising them maximum support, the film distributors promised to cut down on the production of films to 25 as against the numerous films they produce and put up for sale weekly.
The outgoing executive announced the inauguration of its new executive which will take place on 9 February 2012 at the Ostra Halls, Ikeja, with Fuji star, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma on the band stand.
