Sunshine Stars’ head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has acknowledged that his team have kick-started their season on a slow note.
The Akure Gunners are currently in 10th position having earned seven points from four matches but have an outstanding game to play at Lobi Stars.
At this same point last season, Ogunbote’s men had already notched up nine points from four games losing only to 3SC in their opening game last term.
However, Ogunbote believes his squad’s start between this season and last is just marginal.
He added that Sunshine Stars’ slow start should not be a cause for alarm since the season is still in “its early days.”
“Yes I must confess that we have started this season on a rather slow note. But it is just a marginal difference compared with the way we started last season. But I believe that we will peak in the course of the season,” Ogunbote said
