Match-Fixing: Sunshine Know Fate Soon
Barrister Adeleye Adepoju, a board member of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has said that the case of match fixing brought to the disciplinary committee of the NFF by Lobi Stars against Sunshine Stars of Akure last season can never be swept under the carpet, insisting that the committee will give its judgment soon.
Adepoju, who is also the head of the committee was speaking to P.M.Sports debunked claims that the matter has been swept under the carpet, saying that the committee’s judgement will be fair to all the parties involved in the saga.
“It’s not true that the matter has been buried as some people thought. We have given the parties involved in the case enough room to defend and justify themselves and we have done a thorough job. We’ll soon give our judgement based on the evidence before the committee,” Adepoju said.
And as a mark to demonstrate their resolve on the matter, Adepoju said the judgement will be passed in a matter of days without fear or favour.
“I believe that within the next few days, the committee shall give its judgement. Whether bad or good, it is not our business. But I can assure you that within the next few days, the judgement will be delivered,” Adepoju affirmed.
However, it was reliably gathered from the media consultant to Lobi Stars, Jack Moses that the committee might have fixed this Thursday to release their findings to the NFF board.
