We Won’t Disappoint Nigerians —Ubale

Chief Coach of Nigeria junior tennis, Mohammed Ubale, has assured Nigerians that his team would secure tickets for the country at the 2012 Africa Junior Tennis Championship (AJC) qualifiers for the 15 West and Central African nations, which served off yesterday in Lome, Togo.

Ubale said that with the training the players passed through before leaving for the tournament on Sunday, Nigerian should expect good performance from his boys and girls at the qualifying tournament.

The Chief Coach who said that he found it difficult to select the players who went to Togo because all the players proved their worth in the camp.

“The players are in their best form for the AJC qualifiers in Togo, “said Ubale before the team left for Togo. “I want to assure Nigerians that we’ll secure tickets for the country at the competition.

“ Selecting players for the qualifier was not easy because the players were all good at what they were doing at the camp. This give me the confidence that we are not going to Togo to make number,” he said.

Nigeria is the defending champions. The country will be represented by Emmanuel Idoko, Joseph Imeh, Sarah Adegoke and Comfort Spencer in the U-16 category, while the U-14 team have Michael Michael, Isaac Omeruah, Zainab Oladimeji and Faith Sunday. U-12 category consists of Godgift Timi, Christopher Itodo and Bunmi.

The African Junior Tennis Championship will take place in Egypt from 10-14 April.
