Ahead of the Africa Nations Cup qualifying game between the Super Eagles and the Wasps of Rwanda at the end of this month, Stephen Keshi says he may invite 12 foreign- based players to complement the efforts of the home-based players who began camping on Monday.

Keshi said there is no need to invite all foreign-based players for the Rwanda game as he is fully convinced that the local players are capable of playing a major role in the qualifying game. He noted that the ongoing Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea has shown that local stars can equally give good account of themselves on a big stage.

“With the performance of the local players since we have called them to camp, I can assure NJigerians that the confidence level of these boys has risen. It won’t be necessary then to invite 22 professionals as was the case in the past. So, I’m thinking of inviting only 12 foreign-based players for our next match,” Keshi said.
