Chief coach of Dona Football Club, Dotun Stephen, have promised to beat their counterparts, Cocolo Football Club, when both clash this evening in Hadijat Memorial Cup taking place in Igando playground, Alimosho.
Dona FC who lost 1- 3 to EVER INC FC in their opening match are desperate to win today’s encounter. A victory for Dona FC will brighten their chance of qualifying for the next stage.
Stephen told GSG that his team cannot afford to lose their second match, saying that anything short of victory against their opponents will be a serious setback.
“Our next match against Colocolo FC is a must win match for us if we want to remain in the tournament. I used a new set of players to prosecute our first match and I think we have learnt our lesson ,” he said.
Stephen charged his team not to underrate their opponents and ensure they come out victorious.
In other matches played, Olumegbon walloped Ever INC 3-1 while Team Prince FC lost 1-2 to Hadijat FC
Match coordinator, Sulaiman Gbadamonsi, expressed satisfaction with the standard of the game and urged fans not to take law into their hands during the tourney.
“The tourney started on a brighter note. All the teams played so far have lived up to expectations. So I expect good game from other teams in subsequent matches,” he said.
