Former Minister of Sports, Bala Bawa Kaoje, has advised the Supervising Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, to be wary of his advisers.
Kaoje warned the minister to be wary of the people that give him advice, saying they will come in different shades to confuse him.
“The minister should be careful with the people that advise him on how to run Nigerian sports. I want him to know that many of them only want to confuse him and not to give him good advice,” warned Kaoje.
Kaoje advised the incumbent minister to only make use of the advices that will contribute to the development of Nigerian sports.
“I want the minister to always ponder on every advice given to him before he acts on it. He should only make use of the ones that will help him move the sports forward in the country,” said Kaoje.
However, the former minister has kicked against the idea of streamlining the existing sports federations in the country, saying the ministry should rather concentrate on how to make them more functional.
“The idea of streamlining the existing sports federations in the country cannot work. What I expect the sports ministry to do is to work on the various federations and make them to be more functional” added Kaoje.
