Mountain Race: Imoke To Build 400 Houses

Four hundred housing units, 10 safari lodges, a football field, a race track, a basket ball pitch and a tartan track are among the facilities to be put in place at Utanga, the foot of the Obudu Ranch Resort in readiness for the hosting of the World International Mountain Race at the Ranch Resort in 2013.

Senator Liyel Imoke, the PDP candidate for the 25 February governorship election in Cross River State, revealed these to a crowd of jubilant supporters at Sankwala, Obanlikwu while on a campaign tour.

According to Imoke, the youths in the area should brace themselves and effectively key into the massive construction work that would soon take place in the area. “Let me tell you, the work is massive and I can assure you that nobody from outside would be awarded the contracts but the people of Obanlikwu. in keeping with our policy of empowering our people.”

He said plans are on top gear to commence the construction work to meet the World International Mountain Race Association standard and deadline for hosting the race at the Ranch.
