Super Eagles striker, Ekhigo Ehiosun has said that the Chipolopolo of Zambia may shock the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in Sunday’s final of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Samsuspor of Turkey attacker in a chat with P.M. Sportsonline from his base said Zambia have shown that consistency matters a lot to get a favourable result in football. He added that it was very difficult for the Super Eagles before they defeated the Chipolopolos 2-0 in a friendly game played last November in Kaduna.

“I don’t like to predict games. But I have been watching the Nations Cup and I believe that Zambia did not surprise me with their performance. It was hard for the Eagles to beat them 2-0 in Kaduna in an international friendly match.

“The Zambian team have been consistent. The players in the current squad have been together for a long time and I will not be surprised if they upset Ivory Coast,” the former Warri Wolves player said.

Ehiosun, however, expressed sadness over Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the tournament, stressing that the Eagles won’t let this happen again as the team get set for the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda later this month.
