Oboabona, Oshaniwa Vow To Make Rwanda List


Super Eagles defenders, Godfrey Oboabona and Juwon Oshaniwa, have vowed to make the expected star-studded squad that will confront Rwandain a Nations Cup qualifier in Kigali on 29 January.

Speaking after trouncing Nationwide division one side DSS of Kaduna 4-0 on Sunday in Abuja, Oboabona, said he is sure of making the few that Coach Stephen Keshi will pick for the battle of Kigali.

The bulky right back who skippers Sunshine Stars of Akure, said he has learnt a lot from the national team technical crew to make him a constant member of the national team, especially now that the position is up for grabs.

“I’m determined to make the team to Rwanda and by the Grace of God I will be in the team for the Nations Cup qualifier.

On the friendly against Liberia on Wednesday, Oboabona is thinking of nothing but victory. “My teammates and I have the winning mentality in us now and it will be very difficult for any team meeting us to go unbeaten”, he said.

Oshaniwa on his part is looking forward to a battle for the left back position with Queens Park Rangers of England star, Taiye Taiwo.

“I believe there is time for everything and this is our time, that’s why I’m so confident that I will be in the team to Rwanda ”, he said.

Like his teammates, he believes that the Eagles are prepared enough for the Liberia friendly and will come back with victory.

“The technical crew have been able to give us the mentality to win games and the world will see a bit of that on Wednesday when we play Liberia.”
