TASUED Student Dies In Auto Crash

One student from the scrapped Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, Ijagun in Odogbolu Local Government Council Area of Ogun State was this morning confirmed dead while many others were seriously injured in a fatal accident along Kobape road, Abeokuta, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the students, who were on their way to Abeokuta, the state capital, to stage a protest over the scrapping of their institution by the state government last week, had a fatal accident when their vehicle somersaulted several times due to overspeeding.

The Clerk of the House of the institution, Comrade Tope Majekodunmi, confirmed the incident and said that tension was still high in the area.

“We had an accident just now along Kobape road on our way to Abeokuta. One of us popularly called TJ is dead and the Students Union Government, SUG, Vice President, Miss Yemi Alaka, is in a coma. We are trying to rush others to the hospital for first aid treatment. It was a fatal accident. I will call you back sir,” Comrade Majekodunmi told our correspondent at the scene of the incident.

The Public Relations Officer of TASUED, Barister Gbenga Omilani, when contacted, was shocked about the incident but later called our correspondent to confirm the incident.

He, however, declined to comment on the death of the student, saying that the school doctor was on his way to the scene of the incident.

As at the time of filing this report, the SUG President, Abdullahi Abiodun Oyekanmi a.k.a. Plato could not be reached on his phone.
