Frank Gboneme, the outgoing captain of Ikoyi Club 1938 (Golf section) says the one-year tenure he spent as captain of the section was fulfilling.
Gboneme, who served as vice-captain two years ago before taking on the mantle of captainship last year, while speaking at the gala nite/prize-presentation ceremony said that it was challenging and interesting.
According to him “Without the support of numerous members of this section, both playing and non-playing memebers, I don’t think I would be in a position to say this; being captain of Ikoyi Club Golf section is challenging yet interesting. We were given pass mark by members and we know that because we cannot do everything, those coming after us will start from where we stopped.”
He added that it was an honour to serve at the elite club and at one of the most vibrant sections in the club.
“The Golf section without mincing words is one of the most vibrant sections in the club and to be captain here is indeed a great honour. I want to say I enjoyed my time as captain here and would forever have sweet memories of it”
