Archbishop Magnus Atilade, President of Christian Welfare Initiative (CWI) has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to look into the possibility of establishing state police forces to complement the efforts of the Nigerian Police Force.

He added that the organisation has embarked on fasting and prayers for the country to curb the menace of Boko Haram.

He said this at the headquarters of CWI, where a fasting and prayer programme, tagged, “let there be restoration of peace in Nigeria”, was put together by the organisation.

Earlier, Pastor (Professor) Chris Awodipe (Vice President of CWI) stated that “this is the time for all good citizens of this country to rise up and kick against the violent sect and their sponsors by offering useful information to security agents”.

Archbishop Atilade argued that although it is the duty of the Federal Government to see to the security of life and property, the Federal Government must accept any security assistance that might be offered by the international community; after all, the country is a member of the United Nations.

He called on the Federal Government to without bias and sentiment, bring all Boko Haram sponsors to book and strengthen the Nigeria Armed Forces.
