Super Eagles’ goal keeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, has said that there is no automatic shirt for any foreign-based players invited for the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda on 29 February in Kigali.

Chief Coach Stephen Keshi invited 11 foreign-based players to join the home-based players in camp ahead of the Rwanda match.

Shorunmu said with the performance of the home-based players against Liberia in an international friendly match, which Nigeria won 2-0 this week, the foreign-based players will have to fight for shirts to make the squad.

“The home-based players have done well in their recent matches for the Eagles and only fit players will be considered for the Rwanda match” he said.

Shorunmu, who was impressed with the commitment of the home-based Eagles in camp, urged the players not to relent in their effort throughout their stay in camp.

The former Eagles’ goalie is however optimistic that Nigeria will beat Rwanda in the two legged encounter to brighten their chances of qualifying for the South Africa 2012 Nations Cup.
