After what could be described as a long and tortuous wait, Rangers International of Enugu have finally released the International Transfer Certificate, ITC of their former player, Brendan Ogbu, who joined Heartland of Owerri this season.

Ogbu disclosed this to P.M.Sports today from Owerri that his former club denied him an opportunity of signing for a Tunisian club because the club officials held on to his ITC.

Due to his experience at Rangers, Ogbu advised the Nigeria Premier League, NPL not to allow Nigerian clubs any chance to infringe on the rights of players.

“I think the NPL and NFF have to be strict with the clubs because some of them are in the habit of holding back player’s ITC when they want to go on trials abroad.

“It is not good for our players, and I strongly believe something must be done immediately”, the player said.

Ahead of tomorrow’s NPL Oriental battle between his current and previous clubs, Ogbu said he would be glad to score against Rangers to show that he still has the quality.

“If the coaches could give me a chance to play, I would be glad score to show my former club, Heartland that I’m not a spent force”, he boasted.
