5 Boko Haram Suspects Arrested In Minna

Five persons suspected to be members of Boko Haram and believed to have masterminded the bomb attack on Christ Embassy Church on Sunday have been arrested by the policemen in Niger state Police Command.

The state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Maishanu, who briefed newsmen on the arrest in his office Monday, said the suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further interrogation.

The commissioner disclosed that the suspects were arrested in Suleja following a on tip-off by members of the public.

According to the police chief, an explosive device suspected to be bomb planted between two vehicles parked in front of a Guest House along Morocco Street, Suleja close to Christ Embassy Church, exploded at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

He said although no life was lost, five persons, two of whom are carrot sellers and a baby, sustained injuries from the blast.

Maishanu said three of the injured persons have been discharged from Suleja Hospital while the remaining two have been referred to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital.
