Boxing: Chisora, Haye Face Life Bans

Dereck Chisora and David Haye are facing life bans from boxing for their shameful Munich punch-up last weekend.

Chisora has already had part of his £100,000 purse stopped after he slapped heavyweight rival Vitali Klitschko in the face at the weigh-in on Friday.

Now the Londoner, 28, is in the dock again, this time for spitting at Vitali and his brother, Wladimir, before the WBC title fight and brawling with Haye at a post-fight press conference.

Haye, who is wanted for questioning by police in Germany for his part in the brawl, will be arrested if he ever sets foot in the country again.

That virtually blows Haye’s chance of ever fighting again for the world heavyweight title, as the Klitschko brothers hold all the belts and would want to defend them in their adopted homeland of Germany.

Haye officially ‘retired’ after he lost his WBA title showdown with Wladimir last year, but was expected to re-apply for his fight licence following talks to take on big brother Vitali later this year.

But Robert Smith, the British Boxing Board of Control secretary said: “David Haye is not a licence holder with the Board any more.

“But Dereck Chisora is, so we can deal with him and with David also if he decides he wants to box on at some stage. If Haye reapplies for his licence then we will deal with it.
