Ram Charging: Energy Wins National Tourney Again

Just as it did in 2010 and 2011 editions of the National Ram Charging Championship on Sunday, Energy made a good defence of its title as it won the 2012 edition of the tourney organised by Rams Sports Promoters Association of Nigeria at Oshodi Sports Centre, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Energy from Surulere, Lagos knocked out its opponent, Mourinho from Mushin in a grudge encounter watched by a capacity crowd at the playground.

In other finals decided on Sunday, Yoyo Bitter of Ijede beat General of Surulere 14-13 hits to win the Category B fight. Category C was like a fight between the National President of the association, Alhaji Kayode Adumadeyin and his secretary, Alhaji Kayode Balogun.

Alhaji Balogun’s Jumong, however, prevailed in the fight as he beat President’s FM 14-13 hits.

In Category D, Wizkid of Surulere defeated Nevada, also of Surulere in 9-8 hits.

The fight between Ikebe of Ijede and Weapon of Ibadan ended in favour of Ikebe in 4-3 hits in Category F. Pakurumo lost its Category H fight to Legacy 6-7 hits, while Coded of Ibadan beat Elepete of Sagamu in a tough encounter that ended in 48-47 hits.

President of the association, Adumadeyin, applauded the sportsmanship of all the ram owners that took part in the competition which lasted five weeks.

“I’m so gald with the turn out of fans since we started this tournament and I believe the next edition will be better than this,” he said.

P.M.Sports learnt that over N2 million worth of prizes were given out to three winners in each category at the end of the championship. The prizes included deep freezer, fridges, generators and cookers.
