A yet to be identified woman lost her life while seven others were seriously injured this morning in an auto crash involving commuter bus known as danfo with registration number XW 63 GGE.
P.M.NEWS learnt through men of the Lagos State Fire and Safety Services from Ile Epo station who visited the scene that they were informed of the accident by two okada riders at about 7 a.m. today.
It was learnt that the bus painted in Lagos colour of yellow with black stripe was over speeding when its tyre burst and the bus somersaulted twice.
Eyewitnesses said immediately the vehicle halted, the driver and his assistant (conductor) took to their heels leaving the dead and injured to their fate.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, from Agbado unit later arrived the scene and removed the corpse to an undisclosed hospital while the injured persons were also rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Policemen from Elere Police Division Headquarters also visited the scene of the accident and assisted one of the victims who was unable to walk to the hospital.
The danfo has been taken to the police station while a manhunt has been ordered for the fleeing driver.
