Martins Adebayo is the chief coach of Colocolo Football Club. The team have not won any laurel in recent times. Adebayo spoke with Grassroots Soccer Guide about how his team lost Hadijat Cup final and other issues
Were you dissappointed that your club failed to win this year’s Hadijat Cup?
Of course yes. I was disappointed that we lost 0-2 to Hadijat Football Club in the final. My players did their best but our best was not good enough to win the cup.
Have you won any laurel since the club was founded?
I established the club last year. Though we have participated in some football competitions, unfortunately, we are yet to win any trophy.
Do you have any hope of winning a trophy this year?
Colocolo FC are very desperate to win trophies. I believe this is our time to win laurels for our fans. It was painful that we did not win Hadijat Cup despite all our efforts.
So we need to start preparation now for the Alimosho Unity Cup which holds in April at Gowon Estate playground in order to have a good outing.
Tell us your toughest match before the final?
Our toughest match was against Dona FC in the second round of the competition. The match ended 3-3.We got our equaliser when everybody thought we cannot level up the game.
Where do you see your club in the nearest future?
I see the club playing high profile football competitions. I see the club competing with professional clubs in the Lagos FA Cup.
