A woman , Mercy Jessa, who took her friend to her lover’s house in Lagos has lost her man after she was dumped and her lover in turn started marrying her friend.
The man said that he preferred her lover’s friend as wife and went ahead and married her.
This caused a serious rift between the two friends and Mercy allegedly used a blade to slash her friend.
The 25-year old Mercy, was arrested after the attack and has been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, for allegedly using a razor blade to lacerate her friend, Evelyn John.
The traumatised Mercy allegedly ambushed Evelyn at Better Life Motor Park, Ijora Badia, and used razor to slash her face.
Evelyn sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital where she is being treated.
Mercy was charged to court under Section 244 of the Criminal Code, law of Lagos State.
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. H. O. A. Amos, granted her bail in the sum of N10, 000 with one surety in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 12 March 2012, while she was remanded in prison custody pending when she will meet the bail conditions.
