LAWMA Warns Lagosians Over Indiscriminate Dumping Of Refuse

Inhabitants of Lagos state have warned to desist from act of dumping their wastes and refuse indiscriminately into the drains and canals especially as the rainy season is drawing near

Mr. Oladimeji Oresanya, the managing director of Lagos Waste Management Authority(LAWMA) gave the advice during the hosting of four quiz winners of the agency’s sponsor radio programme, held recently.

Oresanya said the state could witness flood free-rainy season, if the citizens of the state do not dump waste indiscriminately and make their environment clean every time.

Oresanya also urged the inhabitants of the state to stop patronizing the outlawed cart pushers, who he said end up dumping the waste in the canals and drains, that end up causing flood anytime it rains.

Speaking on the radio sponsor programme, the LAWMA managing director said it is one of measures in getting feedback from the residents of the state on the activities of the agency, which is being used in measuring its performance. He called on every Lagosians to be listening to the programme so as to serve them well.

The LAWMA sponsored programme are aired on Metro FM, Eko FM,Classic FM and Star FM, while the winners were Mr. Agboola A, Gregory Ojefua, Adebowale Williams and Miss Funmilayo Ojo
