Ogun FA Cup: Handsworth Intensify Training


Defending champions, Handsworth Football Club, have intensified their training ahead of this year’s Ogun FA Cup.

Handsworth FC defeated Indomine FC 5-4 on a penalty shootout after a barren draw at regulation time to emerge the winners in last year’s Ogun FA Cup.

Fifty-eight players have been training with the club for the past six weeks at the  Technical College, Agidingbi, playground, Ikeja, Lagos,

Team Manager of the club,Tajudeen Olasunkanmi, informed GSG that the coaching crew, led by Anthony John will select 30 players for the championship.

“We need to register 30 good players for the Ogun FA Cup in order to defend the title we won last year. I am happy that all the players in camp now have shown a lot of determination and commitment to the club,”he said.

Olasukanmi advised the players in camp not to relent on their oars, saying all the players that eventually make the final list should give their best in the championship.

“We want to defend the FA Cup won last year. To win the trophy, our preparation must be good and solid, ” he said.
