Assembly Committee Summons LASURA GM

The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Physical Planning, Urban Development and Central Business Districts has summoned the General Manager of the state Urban Renewal Authority (LASURA), Abiola Anifowoshe, to appear before it and present vital documents necessary for the committee’s oversight functions.

A letter sent to the GM to that effect and obtained by Assembly Matters, showed that though the committee mandated Anifowoshe to make the documents available to the House on or before 17 February, 2012, the GM had not sent the documents as at the time of this report.

The letter dated 14 February and signed by the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. G. O. Abiru, on behalf of the Committee chairman, Mufutau Egberongbe, asked the GM to furnish the committee with 10 copies of some documents including a list of landed property, tenancy agreement between the state government and occupants of the properties.

It also asked the GM to produce 10 copies of two year evidence of remittance of monies to the state government on the properties and accounts to which the monies were paid, schedule of payments and payment defaulters and “list of projects being undertaken by your agency and its state of completion.”
