Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba, has started bidding for his services at a net salary of £6million (about N1.5 billion).

Talks over a new deal at Stamford Bridge have stalled and Drogba is now considering his options.

The Ivory Coast international has just five months left on his contract, meaning he can enter discussions with foreign clubs over a potential move ahead of next season.

Drogba’s availability has sparked a worldwide scramble for his signature.

Sportsmail learnt that the forward’s advisers are playing financial hardball with his global suitors, with Drogba’s wage demands starting at a staggering £6million per year after tax.

But despite the massive pay package he is seeking, Drogba is attracting plenty of interest from within the cash-rich Middle East.

There is also interest from MLS side Chicago Fire. Drogba’s agent Thierno Seydi said recently: ‘He will go where he is offered the most money.’

Sportsmail can reveal that Chelsea and Porto have already held lengthy and positive discussions regarding a summer switch.

Both clubs are willing to push through a summer deal, though with Hulk’s release clause being £85m they are yet to agree a fee.
