The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Yakubu Alkali, will today retire from the Nigeria Police Force after 35 years of service.

CP Alkali was enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force as a cadet officer on 1 March 1977.

He had served in various capacities in the Force and attended courses, including Junior Command Course, Intermediate Course and Senior Command Course.

He was at the National Defence College from 2007-2009 and was awarded Fellow Of Defence College (FDC) after graduation.

He had also attended various international courses.

CP Alkali holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Masters of Science Mathematics from 0bafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Masters in Policy and Strategic Studies from the University Of Ibadan respectively.

He was the former Commissioner Of Police in Delta State from where he was transferred to Lagos.

Many of the junior and senior police officers praised him as a no-nonsense police officer who did not encourage bribery and corruption among his subordinates while in service.
