No Room For Lazy Players —Keshi

Stephen Keshi has warned that the Super Eagles would no longer tolerate lazy players.

Keshi said his target is to ensure that the senior national team won’t be a breeding ground for players who are only interested in securing lucrative deals in Europe, to revive their dying careers.

He maintained that only players who are fit will be invited to be part of the Eagles in subsequent matches as long as he is in charge of the team.

The former Eagles’ captain said: “With our experience in Kigali against the Rwandans, I want to assure Nigerians that when next we invite players for national assignment, the coaching crew will ensure that there is good fight for shirts in the Eagles.

“There will be no room for lazy players because what we need are fit players to wear the national colours and anyone who is not fit should stay away from the team.”

Keshi warned the players that playing for the national team should be seen as a honour and the duty must be discharged with zeal and patriotism.
