Lagos Employs New Coaches

The Lagos State Government is set to replenish its pool of coaches. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Wahid Enitan Oshodi.

 

The employment of coaches coincides with the preparation of the state to host the 18th National Sports Festival; NSF tagged “Eko 2012”.

 

Though Governor Babatunde Fashola said the state is not hosting to win at all costs, but the state has vowed to prepare its athletes adequately within the festival rules and regulations.

The engagement of 68 honorary coaches on contract basis is to meet the technical requirements of the state’s sports associations and ensure that the state’s long term sports development plan for its young athletes is adequately met.

 

“Governor Fashola also approved training grants to its outstanding athletes with the aim of encouraging active participation in sports, retaining its crop of discovered athletes.
