Foremost football analyst, Austin Akosa has said that Nigeria will qualify for the 2013 African Nation’s Cup despite playing an away draw against Rwanda in the first leg of the qualifying match.

Akosa, who made this disclosure to P.M.Sports, also said that the Stephen Keshi-led crew has started the rebuilding process in the appropriate way by inviting home based players to the national team.

He said: “We will qualify for the Nation’s Cup despite the draw; we have to always remain optimistic when we’re talking about this team. The first match was an away match and we know how difficult away matches are.”

“The coach has started very well by inviting home-based players to the team and I think that’s the only way we can return to the very top in the game. We are bereft of developmental programmes in the country and that has not helped our upsurge in anyway, but with what Keshi is doing, we can only get better” Akosa concluded.

The CAF instructor therefore urged the media to back the coach to make his time in charge of the team a successful one.

“I’m sure that Keshi will succeed with the co-operation of the media and the good people of Nigeria.
