Lagos Junior League: Surulere Hold Lagos Island East
Surulere Football team forced their opponents, Lagos Island East to 2-2 draw in the last match of Lagos Junior League played on Saturday at the Campos sports centre, Lagos Island, Lagos.
The highest goal scorer of the tournament, Alade Muyiwa gave the Island boys a lead in the 17th minute to send their fans into wild jubilation.
The celebration was shortlived as Surulere got the equaliser before half time.
Richard Gideon of Lagos Island quickly scored the second goal in the 68th minute, before Mufutau Abubu scored the equaliser for Surulere to end the encounter in a draw.
Lagos Island East now occupy the fourth place on the table, while Surulere are firmly rooted to the bottom half of the table.
In another match, Eti-Osa lost 2-3 to Lagos Island. Hakeem Olabinjo, Ibrahim Abdulrasaki and Suleiman Ekun all scored for Lagos Island in the thriller.
