Nigeria cup winners, Heartland FC will soon return to their home ground after a major renovation of the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

Heartland have been forced to play at various arenas in Nnewi, Enugu, Aba and even Calabar, but they are expected to now resume their Nigeria Premier League as well as 2012 CAF Confederation Cup campaigns at the Dan Anyiam Stadium soon.

“We will hand over the renovated stadium to the Imo State government in 10 days time,” said Ebi Egbe, managing partner of Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Limited.

“The stadium went through a total upgrade of the scoreboard, floodlights and the change rooms, while the grass pitch was re-turfed.”

He also disclosed to MTNFootball.com that his company has been awarded the contract to build a new, 20,000-capacity stadium in Orlu, also in Imo State.

“We plan to complete this new stadium between eight and 12 months,” he informed MTNFootball.com
