Two Handsworth Players Join Kogi Utd
Two players from Handsworth Football Club of Sango Otta have joined professional club, Kogi United on loan.
Sesan Abdullah and Lookman Garuba, who played for Handsworth FC in the last Federation Cup, are likely to play their first match for Kogi United this weekend, if the Nigeria Football League NFL, registered them on time .
Kogi United coach, Abdusalam Ariji, told P.M.Sports on phone that the duo have started training with the club since their arrival.
He said the two players came at the time the club was looking for defenders to fortify the team.
“The two players are with us now. We need to complete their registration before they can start playing for us. If they don’t play this weekend, definitely, they will lace their boots for us in our next match,” he said.
Handsworth team manager, Tajudeen Olasunkanmi, expressed delight that the two players from his team joined the professional club on loan.
He charged the other players to work hard if they want to go far in their football careers.
“I am happy for the two players. Kogi United coach saw the performance of the two players in our last Federation Cup and they approached us. We released these players on loan so that they will gain more experience before they get good offers from big clubs either in Nigeria or abroad in the future,” said Olasunkanmi, who promised to retain the Ogun FA Cup in this year’s edition.
