A 33-year old woman has been arraigned before the Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria for allegedly cutting her younger sister’s breast with a razor blade over N1,000.
The woman, Mrs. Ijeoma Anorue was alleged to have used blade to cut Esther Anorue in some parts of her body including her breast. The incident happened at 11/ 13, Fayemi Street, Ejigbo, Lagos where they lived.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Ijeoma accused Esther of stealing her N1,000 which the latter denied.
The accusation led to exchange of words and fighting during which Ijeoma took a blade, cut Esther on her breast and other parts of her body.
She was rushed to a hospital to stop the blood flowing from her wounds.
The matter was reported at the Ejigbo Police Station and Ijeoma was arrested and charged to court on a count charge of assault.
The offence is punishable under Section 338 of the Criminal Code 2004.
She pleaded not guilty to the charge and Magistrate M. B. Folami granted her bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till 18 April 2012. While she was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri Lagos.
