“We are using this medium to call on Team Lagos coaches to come and scout for quality players during the tournament ahead of the Lagos National Sports Festival,” he said.

National Sales Manager of CWAY, Tony Ogunmola, in his own remark, said their decision to sponsor the tourney should not be seen as a promotional platform to launch their products, but noted that they want to contribute their own quota to football development in schools across the state.

He advised the students not to see the tourney as a do or die affair, but to see it as a means of combining education with sports.

Veteran sports journalist, Paul Bassey, who also graced the occasion, implored the organisers of the tourney to ensure fairness and spirit of competitiveness among the students throughout the championship.
