Skipper of Heartland F.C. of Owerri, Chinedu Efugh, has declared that the recent banishment of the club to Calabar for their home games will not affect the team’s performance in anyway.

The defender, popularly called Chicago , who missed the Eastern derby against Enyimba due to a niggling knee injury, made this disclosure to P.M. Sports via an online chat with our correspondent.

He said: “Our banishment to Calabar will in no way affect our game because we’ve been playing away games and won a couple of them. So, I don’t see any reason for us not to play very well there.”

“Also, with the kind of players we have in the team, playing away from our usual ground means nothing to us, because it’s still the same team.”

Efugh, who was contemplating a move from the Naze Millionaires at the start of the season, also expressed delight over being available for the team’s subsequent games, after recovering from the knee injury that sidelined him from their last game.

“I’m good to start a game now because my injury worries are over. I thank God that it was not over stretched,” he said.

Heartland on Sunday defeated 3SC of Ibadan by 1-0 at their banished venue in Calabar.
