The Director General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Nnamdi Okore-Affia, has warned corps members to desist from indecent dressing that could insult the sensibilities of their host communities.

In a statement issued in Abuja by the NYSC management, Okore-Affia specifically called on female corps members not to dress in a manner that would attract unnecessary attention.

He called on the corps members to desist from any act that could offend the tradition and belief of their host communities, saying “do not dress to kill, dress to impress”.

Okore-Affia said the NYSC management was concerned with the security and welfare of corps members, during and after the oreitnation course.

He, however, said the NYSC was currently being repositioned in line with the Federal Governmement’s transformation agenda so as to make corps members impact positively on the life of their respective host communities.

Okore-Affia advised the corps members to settle down to camp life and pay attention to all activities.

“The corps members should pay attention to camp lectures and propose their business plans immediately as well as abide by their oath of service wherever they find themselves.”

He cautioned the corps members against unnecessary visitations to friends and other places of gathering outside their primary assignment.

“Do not go to a place you do not understand, if need be understand the place before you go.”

Okore-Affia also appealed to corps members to embrace the skills acquisition and martial arts training recently incorporated into the orientation course time-table to benefit them.
