Uganda Revenue Authority have put themselves in a hopeless situation after going down 2-0 to Mali side Djoliba in the Orange CAF Champions League match played at Mandela Namboole Stadium at the weekend

The visitors were as good as their words when their coach Bradra Alou Diallo dismissed the home side’s chances of winning upon arrival on Thursday.

The visitors stamped their authority as early as 16 minutes when Alou Bagayoko scored from 18 yards following a free kick. Eight minutes after, Aboubacar Bangoura made it 2-0 for the visitors, pegging back the Ugandans.

Despite the score line, the Djolibia coach refused to rule out a URA’s come-back in the return leg.

“The tie is not yet over. The game is not done yet, there is still plenty of football to be played,” said Diallo, a message that will give URA some scant hope for the return leg.

Like in their previous continental match against Lesotho side, URA created chances but could not convert them.

Sam Mubiru, Vincent Kayizzi, skipper Manco Kaweesa, Peter Ssenyonjo and substitute Saidi Kyeyune went close but could not make their efforts count.
