Edo Assembly Recommends Sack Of AAU Bursar, Registrar

Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) has adopted a resolution relieving the Bursar and the Registrar of the state-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), of their appointments with immediate effect.

The adoption of the resolution Tuesday was sequel to the presentation and consideration of of the report of the Joint Committee on Education and Public Account on the activities of the Registrar and the Bursar of the university.

According to the findings of the report, both the Bursar and the Registrar were found to be incompetent and inefficient in the discharge of their statutory duties.

It was further discovered that the two principal officers of the university could not provide proper records of account and clear statistics on the actual number of students in the institution.

The parliament adopted all the recommendations of the committee, including the sack of the two officers of the university.

In his submission, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Uyigue Igbe directed that a clean copy of the resolution be forwarded to the Governing Council of AAU and Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
